Don't know about Peel for Tuna Davo, the paddock is the area to look from Mud north to the 4 beacons and shipping channel, then nw across to Bribie.

I am not the expert on LT's, and don't target as often as some of the Ausfish guys, but usually have been able to get a feed ( if they are around) on live bait around the 4 beacons. When using plastics, HB lures and slugs seems always to depend on their tastes on the day, and matching the bait they feed on.

    Thanks Scalem,

I know your right with the prime location on the Tuna, I was sort of hoping that I could nail a few around Peel as I only have a 4.2 tinny and dont really want to be pounding it all the way up to the beacons. I managed to hook up on a SP a couple of weeks ago to a decent one 2 - 3 feet I guess, but after 30 mins chasing it around the bay the squire targeted 10lb Vanish rubbed a little too much on the side of his mouth and I said goodnight fishy, but boy was it fun
I have since purchased 2 more rigs to keep on the boat, a 10lb flick stick for the Bonito & a 15lb Heavy flicker for the Tuna, but of course I haven't had them boil near the boat since I guess thats fishing

Davo, i know of a guy that hooked up to an estimated 10 longtail tuna at Macleay two weeks ago.
He was using 2kilo braid and he chased the fish all the way to Peel when the line parted company.
My mate watched on as this event unfolded.
    Fish took a soft plastic.
    Cheers Brent
