Is this comp on this year? Im sure I saw a poster in a tackle shop that its from the 9th June till the 12th, I can't find a website or any info on this site about it? Or have I just been dreaming things up again????

not that i've heard of. the pt lookout publican isn't interested.
unless someone else is interested in running it, the last i heard, it's finished.

Nah Rob, your not dreaming it up. Myself and the boys from Strike Zone were coming back from another hard days work out offshore when we noticed a flyer for the competition under the windscreen of the car. I dont have much more information on it though because we lost the flyer heh. From what I understand though, it's definitely on, unless things have changed in these last few weeks. It's strange there's not much more information going around about it.

Sorry Guys, the flyer you saw was for the Redland Bay Long weekend challange, based from Redland Bay 9th - 12th June.

I too miss the Straddy Classic did 4 in a row from 1994 to 1998

I will be in this comp, look for my centre console, I'll be the one pulling in the big snapper, mahi mahi, kingies........ oh we can but dream.

I thought the old Straddie Classic was in August/September. Does Jim Lally still own the pub because he was always a great supporter? Some great DVDs/videos of past comps as well. Pity if there are no more

Jim still owns the pub, and is still a great supporter.
It has been cancelled again as his pub has finally been pulled apart for the much needed and wanted huge renovations.

This is why he didnt have the Classic this year. he only has virtually one bar going during the reno's.

They are quite sure it will be back bigger and better then ever in 2007.
