i wonder if anyone fished shorncliffe jetty these days.
been there several times only to catch some small breams. when manly harbour's filled with tailor, i wanna know if it is worthy a try on shorncliffe jetty
The last couple of seasons I put out a gang or half a pilie under a float while squid fishing, sometimes pick up a chopper or two and some big stuff hit it and always cut me off, assuming its sharks. I did get a tailor around 45- 50cm off baxters one night.
Might not be shark, last june I saw tuna at about 1 metre in length absolutely smashing the hardiheads. I'm lousy at tuna ID but they had a lot of gold on them.
that is great about the tuna rob and shayned. never thought we'd see tuna in there - darn awesome. would love to catch a few of the bigger boys for some shark bait. either of you had any luck catching em there? awesome stuff. great shark under your name rob! hope youre both goen well btw.
I had 4lb gar gear at the time, only 5 of us there all fishing light, one bloke had a heavier rod. Group effort saw him put out a live pike under afloat. Hooked up and got it in close, no gaff to be had so it snapped off on a pylon, great contest though.
