And so am I Chisel. There are a hell of a lot of enjoyable choppers in between the greenbacks and a lot of miles on the Tss4 I can assure you. They're a fish I never tire of and the big tailor get the adrenaline flowing like no other fish I've caught. And knowing that there are 18lb fish cruising past will keep me chasing for a while to come.

As to the reason for a change of colour at about 2kg, I have no idea other than it isn't sexual maturity, as that is reached at about 1 year old.

under rule 8 I an obliged to post this pic and point out that Wolf's hairdo makes HIM suspect under rules 1, 3 & 7, so don't be too concerned stu - but keep ya waders on .

My white knight Chris to the rescue. Low act that your brother suggested that the "virus" was caused by too much barbeque sauce!!!!!

Looks like the wolf was single handedly trying to destroy the living of all barber shops in Queensland, and yes, your obligations under rule 7 are totally fulfilled to my complete satisfaction.

Now, as far as greenbacks are concerned 4lb in the old money is about 1.8kg, an unwieldy number in metric, but represents approx a 60cm fish. We happy to say 60cm + = greenback ???

Ok Stu, we will concede, 1.8kg is a greenback, now show us your pic of the little greenback you caught on the weekend. I knew this was leading somewhere!!

Its not a boasting fish, or my biggest, but was quite green and begged the question about the line we draw for maturity of the species. Other species seem to go on lenghts rather than weight, so was trying to convert as I thought this was representative of the "borderline"

But since you want to see it, here it is, was 1.8kg or 4lb old money

That was the other cut off point I had been thinking about.
What size does it become a greenback?
When one fillet is enough to feed a big fat Gorilla!

As for a name for the big beasts - how about Green Pointers!

    Cheers
