Bribie, Nerang River, Pin or somewhere else?
Fairly new to fishing in the Brisbane area (SE QLD), have a small tinnie and want to get into some decent fishing (somewhere that I might catch something edible).
What do you fishos consider to be the best area for a novice - The Pin, Bribie, Nerang River or somewhere else?
Any advice appreciated?

G'day
They are all good places. Go to each place abnd seek local knowledge. Work out a target species suitable to the gear you're using. Have a good read of the reports section.

I would consider all the areas that you have mentioned to be decent areas and should be able to catch a feed. You must remember that sometimes you can catch heaps of fish and other times not a thing.
If I were you, I would start at the location that is nearest to where you stay and just get some local knowledge.
Hope this helps and best of luck

Try narrowing it down a bit, you don't need to travel too far to get a feed in Brissie waters.
Where about do you live suburb and what do you want to catch? I'm sure there plenty of info waiting for you right here.

Thankyou for the replies.
I live in Newmarket and whilst I have fished in a few spots around Brisbane I have enjoyed very little success.
Up until now I have concentrated on trolling lures behind my tinnie but the results are not there for me.
Will try concentrating on one of these areas above and try a few different techniques - sps, bait and trolling and report back.
Thanks again

Fish fingers, if your at Newmarket launch at the Pinkenba ramp. Fish the mouth of the Brissie river, out along the beacons of Brisbane rd, Mud island, compass adjustment boay etc (maybe pick up a beacon to beacon from transport department that will give you a good start at ramp locations & waterways).
You'll get all species in that area and don't have to drive far.
Just make sure you'll got your safty gear for partilly smooth waters thats all in beacon to beacon aswell.
