Hi im looking at spending a couple of weeks in proserpine and going to the whitsundays at the start of December, as ive never been there before im wondering what it would be like to take my runabout, it is a 4.10mtr can some one please tell me what the weather is like then, and will i get to the islands in my boat??any info would be appreciated thanks...

Hi,
Cant help you with the weather side of things but took my 3.6mt tinny up a few years ago and had an absolute ball.
On a good day you can drop in at Shute Harbour and fish around Daydream and North Molle easilly.
Try giving Dingo Beach a run, just a bit north of Airlie. When I was there it was just a little fishing village. Excellant fishing around the small islands for trout, sweeties, spanish macks etc etc. Watch the tides as the ramp dries right out and you might very well find yourself waiting for enough water to launch or retrieve.
Dont know much about the local estuary but Im sure someone can help.
