Hi guys, Does anyone know anywhere around Brisbane north to catch some pike? If not, where would be best to travel to get some of these toothey suckers?
Thanks

Give the northern end of Bribie passage a go, between the coast gaurd boat ramp and the boardwalk at Bullcock beach, Close into any and all the private jetties.

Take photos and memories leave only footprints, respect the enviroment when 4 wheel driving , never be too busy to help out someone in need.
Run in tide and first of the run out.

Anywhere a tad south of there?

there are pike in the pine, couldnt tell you the best spot just that ive heard others catch them and they were there today
toss tiny chromies or bright softies around the rock wall at nudgee beach and youll get em
I like white bait on three small ganged hooks with a pea sinker on light line under sundale bridge goldcoast keep-em alive good jewy baits
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
Around the piles of the Shorncliff and Woody Point jetties around high tide when you've got a decent depth of water. Best early morning. Use a bait jig (although they tend to cut off most of the lures after a while), or a small flesh strip, or yellow wool on a long shank hook (about number 2 - 4) lifted up and down through the water column near the piles. At times there are also large numbers of them just outside the Redcliffe reefs. You can jig up a supply of them before you go home after a dawn session

I caught 7 in 30 min on a small lure at Bribie, right off the bridge across from the IGA off the wall. Hope this helps.

Thats what I wanted to hear.Originally Posted by Freeeedom
I did try the shorncliffe jetty a while ago in the late afternoon but didnt get any. Those bait jigs are what i'm hoping to use as they are easier and increase your chance of getting them.
Next chance I get i'll try Shorncliffe again early morning on a high tide and i'll see how I go.
Thanks mate

try the old hornibrook bridge also, i saw a guy catch a heap there about a month ago in the deeper channells again iether side of the high water. he said it didn't really matter what you dragged in front of them these agro little guys hit stuff out of aggression rather than a feed. I've caught them at nudgee beach and off the shorncliffe jetty with different lures including the bait jigs ( i cut these down to two or three hooks to avoid the tangles etc). Can I ask what you plan to use them for?? I've heard also that they are lethal bait for jew. Cheers
Hey
The manly harbour rockwall has plenty of pike..
In the last week i would have got around 80 on small metal lures.. they are great fun to catch..
Cheers
