Brisbane River Next Saturday 8 July

I plan to try yet again to crack a legal squire on SP, probably hitting the Brisbane port area at dawn next Saturday. Does anyone have any hints on whether the squire/snapper are about?

I will again concentrate on 2" and 3" Gulps. Everyone seems to reckon they're the duck's guts, so hopefully I will catch on how to use them. If any other AusFishers are heading down that way, I will be in a 12 ft tinny, GK995Q.

Duck out in front of the reclamation pond walls mate.

Or drift the sunken wall at Pinkenba.

Dont be afraid to go to 5 inch 3/0 hook - small fish will still hit them

As for spots - trial and error

Mike try drifting up from the port of Brisbane Tug terminal.
3 " pumpkinseed gulp at Dawn cast ahead of your drift and SLOWLY!!!! take in the slack line until its all retrieved.....do this a hundred times until you get that first squire.
