Be carefull of green zones (no fishing) up there - cant remember where you can and can't fish.

Did a week up there 5 yrs back, save your bikkies and do a charter as the guys around the resort wont be keen on you cathing their local tourist attration, I.e fish feeding from hands, etc. Not sure away from resort but it is hard yakka on ya pins to get to other spots,

Take your own water, yuk; and grog, v expensive. Take short rod that you can pack in you bags as the airline will probably lose half of your big rod; not the entire rod just half. They will probably find the lost bit just before you are about to leave.
The fees to visit Hamo harbour for a few hrs are quite high but it is one place in the whitsindays you can get a few bits and pieces. This time of year you may get away without having to wear a stinger suit if you swim
See if you can booste a golf cart to get about on the island
Given the bit above it is a nice spot to visit

At the beginning of the run way is the sewer outlet, few sharks there. Just below Kieth Williams old place used to be a good spot for Snapper and sweet-lip off the rocks.
