thats a ripper flattie. ideal eating size. i bet it tastes that much better for how you caught it. congradulations you've joined the SP club. no going back from here master Skywalker. once on the darkside.......forever an Soft Plastic heart.
Yep flood gates are open, 2 casts later and a 30cm pike came and said hello as well. As I was leaving the young bloke had a flick in the same area and dropped another flattie around the same size. All in all 6 casts for two fish is a bloody big improvement over anything else I've done. Thinking of changing my name to Larry.
Once you start you don't realise just how quickly you get hooked. I looked at my fishing log the other day and suddenly realised it's been months since I last used bait.
Funny thing is, I also seem to have caught more fish
Great stuff mate and as the others have said welcome to the dark side!
If you think the missues hates the berkly DVD wait till she sees how much you start spending on your SP collection.
Archer,
I'm already in trouble, as soon as she works how much I've already spent but I do happen to remember another packet I saw the other day which might be nice to add to the collection. Last night was a 3" Gulp grub tail minnow, pumpkin seed with a 1/16 #2 hook jig head pinned in it. I've given the bream a break for the minute as per the advice here and aiming my sights a little lower. I'll get the flatties sorted first, then the bream, then the trevors, then the jacks, then the snapper, then the tuna, then the jews, then the threadfin, then the barra, then the marlin, then the great whites, then the hump back whales, then the....................ba ha ha ha ha ha ba ha ha ..... oh
Probably just try and sort out the bream actually.
Mate,
Let me check tides and the weather report at home to see if there's a cold front moving in or not but a couple of hours on Sunday would be good. There's a few lb spots we can try.

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not just for you mate but for all of us Ausfishers who have read this post avidly from the start. To see you grow from larvae to butterfly in the space of 2 short weeks is amazing.
As you stated the flood gates will now open. If you can get past the lizards that is.
They're always great fun to catch no matter what, especially on light gear.
Congrats mate and welcome to a whole new experience in fishing.
