c-p-r events
Catch-Photograph-Release fishing events have been designed to allow all anglers to compete in a series of fishing competitions
without the need to have live fish wells and without killing fish to prove capture. C.P.R Event rules are simple.
1) catch the nominated fish species.
2) photograph the fish with your C-P-R Angler ID card on a brag mat
3) release the fish a.s.a.p where caught
The C-P-R format has been tested & trialed by some of Australia's finest anglers and is now a fishing series covering fresh and salt water species.
The first C-P-R Classic was held in Port Macquarie with Flathead & Bream being the target species.
This event had 2 sections a Family Teams event (1 angler under 18 ) and a Pro Teams event
Australias largest fresh water fishing comp the Mulwala Cod classic introduced a C-P-R section last year
C-P-R Events would like to invite all AUSFISH members to particpate in the C-P-R Australian championships in Port Macquarie
The family event starts on the 4th october to 6th
Qualifying for the Australian pro teams championship sat 7th october. The top 10 teams Qualify to compete against previous CPR comp winners for the Australian title. For entry forms or further info email bfishing@bigpond.com

Re: c-p-r events
Sounds like a well thought out plan, the flathead classic on the Gold Coast have been doing it now for a couple of years and befor that the large (plus 65cm I think) had to be photoed on the ruler supplied.I would enjoy fishing the comp but am based in QLD and am unable to get there.
Cheers Ian

Re: c-p-r events
hi Ian
C-P-R Events is looking at holding some events in QLD in the very near future. I have spoken with fitzy and several other Qld anglers about sutable venues and comps that are already running that may look at introducing the C.P.R format as an add on to their comp. This was done at the Mulwala cod classic last year.Anglers paid an additional entry fee for the C.P.R section. C-P-R has its own prize pool and cost nothing to event organisers to add on. So far we have over 2300 photo's which have been pasted on to fisheries research and the feed back has been great. one 40 cm bream caught in the hastings river had a small ulcer on its tail which when blown up and inhanced was identifyed as being caused by acid sulfate runnoff in the upper river reaches. very cheap research.
I would like to hear from any angler interested in runnig a C-P-R event in QLD/NT
may your reel scream Dale
