G'day again Ida, I was looking through the local rag today and I recognised the footwear. Did you put it in the club comp.? cheers mate.
I have fished Ballina for some of those jews twice in the last two weeks, would like to do it more offen but just can't get there.
I have not had any luck yet and am not sure if I am riging up right. We are using a tee swivel, main line in top, big sinker off the tee middle and line with two hooks on the bottom. I have tried to do a picture to show you, maybe its my livie thats the problem
cheers
tony
nice drawing
jeez those big felles look good i can,t wait to get mine at moreton island in a month
i found the biger fish dont eat as well
as the smaller fish.
but better to catch.
nice fish.
gday ynotaj try keeping your rig simple!personally i dont use sinkers whether in boat or off the bank.i use 30lb main line with heavier trace&6/0 hook &fish 1hr either side of tide.works 4 me ,keep trying mate &maybe try diff spot ?cheers ida
g'day, here are a couple of smaller models I caught on friday night on lures. Gonna get out the light gear shortly and see if I can break something, cheers.
nice fish rabbi
Thanks Ida, they were a matching pair of 16kg fish. I took the little rod with the 4.5kg braid and rubbers out tonight for a run but the tourists have scared off the fish(probably a good thing). next time, cheers mate.
Beaut fish gents!
Glad to see the mullet netters didn't take them all as 'by-catch'!
Mulloway certainly make winter fishing worthwhile, eh!
Have to agree with scarecrows' comments re size and eating qualities, but those big fish sure look impressive in the moon/torchlight, so much more attractive than say shovelnose or dare I say it, salmon!
Cheers and happy eating!
Going for a fish tomorrow evening taking the light SP rod...8lb line should make it interesting!Originally Posted by rabbi
Havent nailed one on rubbers yet but with any luck i will tomorrow night...Though on that gear im hopeing not quite as large as the ones shown in this thread.
gday archer hope u have some luck ?maybe id use a little heavier line!but anyhow goodluck let us no how it all goes.
