Fishing Turkey Beach, 1770 and Lady musgrave Is.

    Hey fellow fishers,

Am planning a trip in later months of the year to 1770, Lady musgrave Island and Turkey Beach area, on a week long trip.

Just wondering if any one out there has been up that way and are able to let me in on any information, boat ramp info and fishing grounds and other info that might be able to help in the planning of the trip. Because it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi-yo
Thats not a bad write up, but really how do you do justice to a place like this!!
There is sooooo many different fishing options, all changing at different times of the year. Northern tropical species, temperate southern species, and some of the most awsome locations to fish for them, some nearly innaccesable, some very easy to get to. I,ve been living here full time for about 12 years, and every day I hear stories that would make most fisho,s drool at the mouth.
Can you ever really do it justice?
In my 12 years living here, and working, I have hardly even scratched the surface of what is on offer to the keen and adventurous fisho.

    Regards, Tony

    Yeah thanks Tony,

Your right though as it would take the whole 164 pages to fill that top little honey hole that you call your back yard up there.

Gotta get up that way soon as me mate is now living up there...if he comes in give him a hard time..garry from 1770 ready to go.

    g'day mate,

boat ramp info at turkey beach... none of the locals use the actual ramp they put their boats in off the sand next to the ramp as its easier usually either with a tractor or 4wd. If you are looking for accomodation I know the lady at the Post Office has units/houses for rent. Best to book in advance for that. Apart from holiday houses/units for rent there is no other accomodation... no caravan parks or anything. Fishing is pretty versatile up there... if the weather is bad there is always the estuaries... a few nice reefs out the front not too far out and a heap of good reefs out wide... Just depends what type of boat you have as to the access to the different places. Mud Crabs are generally accessible all year round.
