Well Ian
No one has given you any places to get your bait!.
Maybe you should stay home and do some house work.
That way Nomes might buy you a better birthday present

Am heading out off the Tweed on Mon (weather permitting) and would like to know if anyone has a mark for any live bait grounds off the Tweed rvr mouth that they are willing to share.
Thanks in advance Ian

Where are you putting in???? Fingle Ramp? If so just as you leave the boat harbour as you enter the river there is always herring holding there if you want to use herring, or failing that over near the sand pumping jetty after you go across the bar is also good from what I hear
What are you going to be chasing? knobbys? kings? pitty I'm not comming with ya but hope you have a great day and the sea drops enough for you to get out

Basically it's pretty sad for livies down that way for some time now since the sand pumping jetty went in and covered up most of the bait reefs in close . As has been said the outer end of the sand pumping jetty just out the Tweed bar holds some but is unreliable and watch the swell if it's up . Kirra bait reef - whats is left of it - comes and goes and is close to the break zone so watch it as well . Palm Beach bait reef is the most reliable but a bit out of the way if you are not using Currumbin bar . Check your pm's .
Chris
Thanks for the info. Now have to get out there and catch some fish.
Cheers Ian
just sound about 800mtrs NE of snapper rocks mate sh!tloads of slimeys there and big sukkas too. also plenty of pike and yakkas
cheers matt

Has the reefy bits off Snapper been uncovered again ? Used to be close and handy for livies before it went under the sand .
Ian - try here first as matt says . If you dont know it Snapper is the Headland just North of the bar . Much closer than Kirra which is an unknown . Sorry do not have a mark for this one . May be a charter boat there if they are out .
Chris
yeah mate we were too close in the last time we were there about 3 weeks ago but we seen a charter boat go out about 200mtrs past us so we followed him and there they were we also pulled this on a placcy while jigging bait there
