    Fraser Bound Saturday 01/07/06

    Hello there everyone

There is a crowd of us going there Saturday morning and my friends a curious as to what may be installed for us when we can get there.
I have been on the www.epa.qld.gov.au/parks/iaparks site for information regarding the conditions but it is not as good as getting it first hand from one of the regulars.
    So any ideas on
    Beach conditions
Catches being made off the eastern beaches from happy valley up to waddypoint
and any other useful info would be great.

    Looking forward to Saturday morning.
    Cheers.

Gary Howard writes a column in my local rag "The Bayside Star" and this weeks article was about last weeks trip to Fraser. He said that the fishing on the Eastern beach was the hardest that he had ever found it, but he also added that they had 20 knot south-easters to contend with for all of they're stay aswell.

    Hi Kiev

Well if the weather has not changed then we are in for it!
I have been to the site suggested and it all sounds good but this was for the EXPO and very early in the month.

HOWEVER, it's all go Saturday wind hail or shine.

I will give you a report when I return.

    Cheers.

    Hello All

Yep we made it back sorry for the delay of the update.
Did alright on the head as most of fishing was done there.
Some really good GT's, Tailor of the veranda noting under the 45 cm was kept and during the day some really nice whiting in the aquarium and these were really nice..

A little bit of weed > which we did see coming up the east cost but not a lot just here and there and according to all of the reports the I did read before the trip this was great to see.

BUT we are off again in a fortnight!
For a week this time camping on the east coast of the island near Dundaburra.
Going there this time with Dad and a couple of the more regular gentlemen that attend the annual pilgrimage to this great fishery.
These guys have been going there since the early 70’s and some of the tails these guys can tell you is remarkable.
One of the guys who is now in his 80’s can remember going up the eastern side before any tracks let alone boards were there and not a sole was to be seen for days.
And this was done in an old series one Land Rover.
Now it is of course a little different as we all supply some additional goodies to try and make it as comfortable as possible as he is a not as nimble as he once was but he can still cast out just a far as me, he certainly got it.

Looking forward to any report for anyone out there.
I have been reading reports from all of the regular sites and it is sounding good for us again.

To be sure to update again when we return this time sooner rather than later.

    Cheers gents.
