Hi whiting guru here first time on the chat board just like to say hello to you all and must say how nice it is to see people helping others on spots and different ways to catch fish all over brisbane. I,m trying my luck out at redcliffe and just wondering if any one nows of some nice spots.i have a little boat 3.5m so i can only venture out for a little while, any help would be nice. And if any would like cooking tips on different fish i would like to help as Im a chef and have a few nice receipes. for any one to try. thanks for your time.
Any where around Scotts Point shouldl find you a squire. Just be carefull of the reef it does extend out a fair way and dont be scared to fish shallow!
Often whiting out from the Woody Point Jetty or over in Deception Bay
Cheers
Norm
Any of the reef areas along the eastern side of the peninsula will produce fish. Best times are between Dusk and Dawn, the darker the night the better. Fish as light as possible and be prepared to loose some ground tackle. There should be some nice bream starting to move into the area, I have found fresh flesh or live baits to be the most productive.
I don't live over that side of the bay so I can't help much with locations but I'm sure some of the others on here who do live in the Redcliffe area will be happy to assist.
Welcome aboard mate. I suggest that you go take a look at low water, that way you can familiarise yourself with where the reefs are. There's a few around Scotts and woody that can rise up at you pretty quickly. Plenty of large pike there at the moment.
Welcome aboard Whiting Guru
I'd give woody point or scotts point a go or try scarborough reef area all are close to land and shouldnt be too much of a hassle to get to , wind direction and strength will probably dictate which end of redcliffe you will fish .
Could also give the pine river a go if the wind gets up too much .
Grew up out there there always plently around, fished Scotts point a couple of W/E ago got 1/2 doz good bream. Best to get out when boat #s are down or fish the smaller reefs of Sheild St and Griffith Rd if the boats are around they where nailing some good fish earlier this winter. Ekka Westerlies are on there way and have always brought the Chopper Tailor.
Welcome aboard Norm. You didnt tell us what sort of fishing you want to try around here, or when you want to go. For whiting you can try drifting around the area of Woody Point jetty like mentioned if you want flathead the pine is the go at the moment. We are going out sunday morning and fishing the pine. There are also some bream and whiting there as well. The others have already covered the reef areas for you. Good luck
Hi whiting guru here a big thankyou to you guys who responded back to me i will take on board your advise and will get back to you all and let you know how i went .
