hey guys, i caught this today at the seaway, was just wondering if anyone could tell me what it is?

its a maori cod,i have caught a few in the rous channel

legal size is 45cm and a bag limit of 5

How big was it? Looks like an OK size.

i think it was about 35 to 40cm. we threw it back cause we didnt know what it was, and we caught a smaller one later on as well
