hey mate, i fish the gold coast for bream and i like to use 2inch powerbaits in smelt and pseed colour on a 1.5 gram size 4 jig head and for flathead i use a squidgy fish in black gold colour and have alot of sucsess

hey mate i use power baits to 2 inch b woorm, p seed, pealr blue and smelt on a 1.5g jig head size 4 hook and i clean up on bream and sometimes get the odd whiting they go hard on 4lb braid and 4kg rod and for flat head i use 3inch power baits with a tt jig head 1/12g wit a 2 heavy hook

Soft plastics are a great option, lively lures "pink Micro Mullet" is a great hard body only hard lure ive ever caught whitting on while fishin 4 flatties.

3 inch gulp grubtail minnows in pumpkinseed get a fair wrap on here for flatties and toad fish.

Mate thats a tough question...if you asked every SP fisherman on here almost every one of them would say a different lure. Best bet is to go with something you are confident with, which usually only happens when you get your first fish .
For flathead i would go 3or4 inch gulps/powerbaits/squidgees and for bream i would use 2 or 3 inch gulps/powerbaits. For whiting pieces of the gulp bloodworm will do the trick.
If you want to just get one lure that will catch almost any fish go 3inch gulps in pumpkinseed...they are the most popular.
