450 tonne of concrete and steel on artificial reef
Hi Guys
Just to let you know that there has been 3 full barges of concrete pipes, blocks and steel frames deployed on the Cochrane Artificial Reef this week near Bundaberg, Qld.
You can find the first of the images of the deployment on a quick webpage, which also gives the GPS marks for a small trawler sunk there yesterday as well.

other pics can be seen on the BADARAI site:http://www.badarai.asn.au
The Art Reef committee got a government grant for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry to hire a large barge for the 4 days to sink all of this gear that would have taken us another 6 years to get rid of. Snapper already showing signs of living there.
We will be putting a new map out of the area on the website, at the boatramp on the Elliott River as well as getting anglers to fill out catch cards to see that it gets used. Check it out sometime and fill out a catch card when they get produce to help us out.

Dr Andrew
if i get up that way i'll be sure to check it out, thanks.
get as much on the bottom as you can now, cause if a marine park is ever established you'll have trouble dumping.
