Fish ID. What is this fish

Caught this fishing with my son at Ethel Rocks a few weeks back, it was about 45cm. Took this photo just before letting it go. Havn't find it in my Grant's Guide to fishes yet.
Any idea's, think it's some sort of trevally.

Ern Grant calls it a Black-banded kingfish...it's definitely related to the kingfish, amberjack, and samsonfish clan.

He also says it has a poor reputation as an edible fish.

Black-banded Kingfish (Seriolina nigrofasciata) - slightly different to the juvenile sambo.

A good recipe is to cover them with red wine, some lemon slices, salt and pepper to taste, a half cup of vodka, wrap them in alfoil, cook on a BBQ for about 30 minutes.

To serve, open the alfoil carefully, chuck the crap fish in the bin and drink the juice!

    Yummy!
