It is easily accessible near the hornibrook bridge on the Redcliffe side and there is a google earth photo someone posted recently showing their recommended sandbar spot. It seems like something to be done in the bottom half of the run out tide and around the turn of the tide, exiting before the run in gets too high.

    Live 2 Fish,
    # # # # # # # # Very easy access.Between the two bridges (Redcliffe side) is a small carpark and from there an easily managable rock wall seperates you from the fish.To the right there is about 500 meters or more of firm sand bank for you to explore. To the left is what's known to locals as The Wells. This is prime Flathead and Bream country with the odd Estuary Cod.At the Wells the ground is a mix of firm sand and rock so it's solid under foot.

I recommend you be fishing an hour before low tide through till an hour after it has turned. The water can move pretty quick but common sence will tell you to get out. There is usually someone there for advice,Most of which are very friendly fishos,So don't be afraid to ask.Could maybe meet ya down there and give ya a guided tour sometime.

One thing when fishing "The Wells" area, make sure you watch where you put your feet.

I nearly stood on a stonefish a few weeks back. They are the next best thing to invisible on the brown rock you find in the area. Just about made me go home and change underpants

My mate got tagged with a stingray when we were wading yesterday, kept fishing though, personally I would have been at home with the hot water straight away. An absolute tonne of flat head lies but no fun to be had, fished from 9 til 1.30 (just on low tide). Didn't see much come up, a bloke in a yellow tupperware boat got something on fly way out front of the bridges.

I foul hooked a whiting if that counts as a capture. I'm starting to believe the pine only fishes well on a good running tide.

    Live 2 Fish,
    # # # # # # # # If you are in the Redcliffe side car park facing the water the Wells is on the left hand side of the Houghton Highway (The one on the left). At low tide you'll see quite a few rock bars protruding from the water. In and around these rocks are holes and channels,Most of which are sand,Some are a combination of studded rock and sand.Perfect Flathead country. This area is whats known as The Wells. At low tide there is usually always someone havin a go,Making it pretty easy to find.
