SP's for squire
hey guys,
Just wondering what everyone thinks is the best sp's for squire. Planning on trying to hook some up soon, not far fron sure. I already have a couple i am planning on using, but as i have only targeted squire once before, was wondering if any tips on lures could be given.
Thanks

G'day
Personally I like the watermelon and pearl watermelon in the powerbaits and gulps, 4 and 5'' in minnow and jerk shads. This is what has produced for me. Best bet would to have a good read through the estuary reports section and you will get good ideas there. Redcliffe shallows is a recent post you may want to have a read of.

Ash,
Names to search on Ausfish are Foggy (who won the bait vrs placcies River to Mud this year), T1, Aquarius, Steven78, beefaman - and more. Find their profiles, and look at the last 25 posts, you should find plenty of secrets there.
My preferences are Berkley Pearl Watermellon 4" and Berkley Gulps 3 or 4" in pumpkinseed. Brent (Aquarius) clear favorite would be Zoom baby bass 4"
And when I am sick of losing tails to grinners and pickers, I slap on a Snapback Electric chicken which outlasts them all, but still catches fish.

Re: SP's for squire
Ash,
If I had only 3 plastics in my bag it would be the 4" powerbait minnow in watermelon, any of the gulps in pumkinseed and of course the 110mm javallons in a green or pumpkinseed. the real secret is in the weight of the jig head. Use as light as possible. The plastic should be wafting down gently not banging to the bottom. In 30 feet of water it should take at least 30-40 seconds to reach the bottom. Also use as light as possible fluro carbon leader, 8-14lb in the bay.
Good luck mate.
Foggy
