You can hire boats in the Maroochy River from Swan Boat Hire on Bradman Ave (www.swanboathire.com.au). All the usual estuary species can be caught in the river with good spots being the cod hole (under/next to the motorway bridge) at the mouth of the creeks upstream from the bridge, around the channel markers at Bli Bli and around the islands downstream from chambers island (next to where swan boat hire launch from).

You can also hire boats to fish in the Pumistone Passage out from Caloundra - not sure of the name of the company that rents them though. Good fishing to be had in the passage and much better than the Maroochy IMHO. Don't know of any places to hire boats on the Mooloolah river - haven't really looked though so there might be something around.

    Good luck

    Mike

I'm with Snakecatcher on this. Pumistone Passage is probably your better option.
