    How Safe is Coochin Creek

Hi all, I am thinking about fishing around Coochin Creek abit over summer and I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with security there. I have just got myself a nice newish car and I don't want it to go walking. I want be going at night because that would be instant car loss but what about during the day. All advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Scotty

You should be OK around the camping area as there are usually people camped there. Haven't heard any reports of cars being stolen so why do you think it will be unsafe?

Im just worried as it is out in the middle of nowhere. I used to go out there in a mates car and leave it all night years ago. But just curious. My car is a lot newer and I was wondering if anyone has had problems there.

mate there is a problem up in that area i have seen cars comming out on tilt trays with no wheels ,trailers go walkies and that is on land, share farmers work the creek. however the police do patrol it but they come down from caloundra so the checks are random, your call but i wouldnt rest to easy with a new rig sitting in the middle of nowhere with all that state forest around, cheers barfly

well, I've got a sh!tbox nissan patrol which noone would steal, but a newish trailer.

If your trailer is not theft worthy maybe we could work something out?

I have heard that down near the camping area is not so bad.

Even better, there are shacks which can be rented right down the end of the track, near the junction of the creek with the passage. Must get the number from the bloke at work. Apparently it is through the orchard.

Scottnojack that area is where i call home , i always go down to where the houses are right at the end and have had one tail light stolen in 10 years . Park in front of the houses at the boat ramp and you shouldn't have any problems, however undesirables can be any where!

Candogu, Can I get some directions off you. I am not fishing just going to watch birds. Honestly The ramp i used to go to was when you turn left at the Camp grounds and head along the corrugated road. You travel a couple of k's and take a right down a little hill and come to a dirt ramp with a massive trunk next to it. Is that the place your talking about or is there one further along.

Darren D, I have never seen any houses out there. How do you get out to them???

Thanks for all your help. I'll keep your spots secret.

Mate just go to the end of roy's rd and when you get to a group of houses on the left,,,, look right and you will see the dirt ramp ...

now,, the month of the creek,, and for that matter the passage in that area are very shallow at low tide

I'll be fishing LB in the upper reaches of the creek saturday night,,, so if ya see 2 500w flood lights on the south bank it will be me
