Re: dangerous comment in Grants - remember a year or two ago a diver down the Gold Coast got nailed in the groin by one of these (newspaper report said it was the second time it had happened to him??!!) Very nasty wound. Makes you wonder what he was doing to it.

By the way...why these debates about legal stuff? We've all got the internet - just get it from the horses mouth (ie Fisheries website in whatever State you are in). The fact that so many varied "opinions" come up in these sorts of debates is pretty scary. Doesn't do the recreational fishing community much good when we don't know the laws ourselves. Only provides ammunition for the small but sometimes vocal anti-fishing lobby.

Nice call gcbrett. Like you said if were making posts on a forum we should have time to look up our bag limits and species we can take.

Pretty sure a surfers foot at newcastle was targeted by a wobby at the start of this year. Its so interesting that the ugliest (one of) fish in the sea get so much attention.
Why is all the good weather around on weekdays?

Why do people keep fish when they do not know what they are. What is the point of keeping something that you say you will eat when you have no idea what it tastes like or if it is poisonous or not.
Did anyone hear about the guy in Bowen that died recently from eating a stonefish (& he apparently knew what it was) what a w%&#er

My humble opinion- these are too beautiful a creature to kill, let alone eat...regardless of how they may taste, and the fact that there are such better pickings available to us!

This fish / shark is sometimes confused by some fishos with the Port Jackson shark, which I believe IS protected.
