Not one hundred % sure, but it looks like a wobygong to me
can you eat them? because we are planning on eating it for dinner and i would really not prefer to end up in the emergancy room for eating a poisonous fish
Definitely a Wobby...they are a reasonable chew...ever heard of flake???

Umm, arent they protected?![]()
G'day Sloth,
A $50,000 fine or 6 months jail for taking these, and you have just posted pictures all over the internet .....
.... are you nervous ?
Cheers

where does it say they are protected? i was always of the opinion they were like gummy sharks/whalers etc? i can;t find anything on the dpi site that address them? so where does the info come from?

Seems to be a few crossed lines here.
That fish was not keept
It was one of the best days fishing i've had yesterday, got that thing, 3 tailor, 2 bream and a squid, 1 sting ray a couple of them spikey worm things that hang onto your hook and few hand fulls of asorted smaller things.
the guys on the rocks next to me pulled in a couple of sharks too, gray about 1.2m long and skinny
only keept the tailor which i gave to the GF too cook up, she's not much of a fish lover and wasn't sure if you could eat them ( women o_0 )
I told her i posted on here for a fish id, she tought it was the tailor pics.
so then she goes and uses my account and adds the replys about eating it ( her thinking it was the other pics).
I hope that clears things up abit.

hey sloth man, you said you were going to eat it for dinner, and did we have any good ideas on how to cook it. ps how did you cook it? hubby
Definitly allowed to keep em NSW. They do have a legal length as listed above. And they taste good when filleted and crumbed or battered. They look a whole lot more attractive filleted too. Goes close to being one of the ugliest fish in the see.
Why is all the good weather around on weekdays?
I didn't cook it or oven keep it
read my post a few posts up.
there was a bit of confusion about what happend.
long story short, GF used my name to reply about it thinking it was photos of other fish i cought that day and keept
thats why i would never put a fish id post on ausfish. hubby
