i caught my first 1 at hervey bay saturday on a small red metal lure

get orange red and white wool tie them together tie a knot evry 1cm or so then cut them just above the knot, burn the knot to make it hard put a size 8 long shank hook through the knot18inches of trace swivel and sinker jig up and down use at least 12lb line or teeth will cut you line after about 5 fish you will catch between 10-30 fish on 1 bait if they are around a lot cheaper than soft plastics and i can catch about 70 and hour

# # # # #As mentioned they love 10 gram slugs.My favourite lure (Minnow) is a Baby Merlin in pink and purple. Even switch baited em with a m8.He was jigging a S.P. and bringing em topside,Then he'd rip it out of the water as I walked a stick bait across the top. Little buggers were launchin out of the water on the strike. When they're hungry they'll eat just about anything.
