Maroochydore/ Alexandra Headlands
Hi, I will be taking the 3 kids to the north coast in the first week on October, haven't fished there for 22 years so any tips on good land based locations for the kids. Looking to target whiting, bream, flatties. Thanks Kev

not a local from up there, but I have never missed on catching more bream that I needed any time I was up there, Whiting will also be on the go, fish anywhere there is stucture for bream, aroung jetties that you can access or pylons.

Here are a few places worth a try:
a) along the banks of cotton tree or from one of the jetties
b) from chambers island which is off bradman ave
c) along oyster bank road which is on the other side of the river
d) along the bank accessible from norjoor road again this is on the north side
all of these are in the maroochy river
You could also try to fish the harbour rock wall which is at the end of the spit in mooloolaba, under mackenzie bridge or in the parrearra channel under the bridge which you can get to from kawana way - check out imnotoriginals posts about this spot.
Weather up here is just beaut at the mo so hopefully it will stay that way for your trip. Good luck with the fishing
Cheers
Mike
