This is off the point of beach worms but along the lines of Fish2eat's comment on collecting your own. There is something special about simple methods of doing things. I quite like using the cast net when I get a chance. A friend of mine from Samoa told me her grandfather caught all the fish their family needed with a spear. Not a spear gun, just a spear. Wicked!!
