    Brisbane river fishing (gateway bridge from boat)

    Hey I have heard many stories about fish caught around the gateway bridge pilons. Does anyone have a favourite pilon to fish at or bait to use. Your helps muchly appreciated

    I dont know how you would go in peak hour on the Gateway Bridge, could get a little hairy !!! oh yeah and you would need a cliff gaff with about 150 metres of rope.

    I've got a mate who has fished off the southern bank, right under the bridge, twice this week. He's come away with two Squire, both up around the 4lb mark. Bait was fresh, king prawns.

    Hirdy,

    I've fished the pylon on the southside of the bridge using soft plastics and squid on several occasions. Usually catch bream and catfish.

    we were out there 2 weeks a go could catch a cold didnt even lose a bait . we tried both sides of the river sorry but i wouldnt waste the fuel again

    Use pillies around any pilons and you get bream and sqire, also use live worm and you can get whiting.
