Thread: manly?

    Re: manly?

4x4. Richie here champ. I've lived in Wynnum for eons and fished Manly heaps. You'll get squid, trevally, bream, tailor, pike and whiting off the rockwalls. I've also landed small macs as well.
There are 2walls. The wall at the mouth of the Manly Harbour (parking near the pool which nabs refers too) and the one which is opposite the mouth. The one opposite the mouth is accessed via a short drive past the boat harbour. This would be the wall with fences but you don't have to jump any fences. It's all ezy. the jetty is called the William Gunn Jetty and some nice cod have been caught there.
If you are lucky and manage getting some good casts in against the pylons or moored boats you should get a jack and maybe trev. (Sorry, I'm not at liberty to indulge my spot X's)
I've had it on good authority that some monster jacks frequent the harbour but are very, and I mean very shy.
    Hope that helps a bit.

    Rich

PS: Oh and like the others said, when the Easterlies kick in......You should pack it in. Tight lines.

Thanks Ritchie. Always good to have local knowledge and to hear there is fish in an area. I lived in Maroochydore for a couple of years in the mid-eighties and we'd snorkel around any chance we got and I saw fish in places people swore they'd never get fish. I tried after spotting some and sure enough I'd get them.
I will head down next week or so when the kids are back at school and I am not playing schaufeur for the hords. Dad's reward for the past 2 weeks
    CHeers mate and thanks.
