Caloundra Wide
If leaving from bribie what is the best way to get out there,go out to the cape then up,follow bribie up the outside then head out or or come around bribie and head out as the crow flies watching carefully for banks.any advice would be appreciated as i want to get out there and have a go at some decent fish.

I go about half way down Bribie and head strait out that way you can get some good livies on the way and shorter trip and no banks.

Darren, When I leave from Bribie to go to Wide Caloundra, I go out through the North East Channel. To go this way you do go over the Spitfire Banks, and then out through the channel. Check your charts and you will know what I mean.
BE warned though that you need to be careful to only go this way if the weather conditions are OK. While these banks do get shallow at low tide, they are still OK as long as there has not been a big swell running. If the swell has been 1.5m or above I won't go that way. The waves do break through the spitfires when there is a big swell around.
If in doubt, go the long way
Cheers,
