Geday Mate
Best Spot for Tailor on Fraser Island is Indian Head.
But im affraid u wont catch any tailor now and if u do it is odd. The Tailor run ended last Full Moon which is when they Spawn. The only thing you can catch there now is Dart Bream whiting Lizards and an odd tailor.
I suggest you wait till the week leading up 2 the full moon this month next year.

Re: Where is the best spot for tailor on Fraser
I understand about the tailor runs and seasons, but i get tailor all the time on fraser all times of year (maybe not as many but also no crouds). And on the goldcoast aswell. I got 12 trolling lures at the jumpinpin a few weeks ago. So surfsup, just pick the deeper inclose gutters at dusk and dawn anywhere north of waddy point and im sure youll get some good ones.

Tailor will be available at the top of Fraser until early February when they will taper off. Ngkala Rocks is always a great place to target tailor and other species. South of Indian will still have fish until well into March with the Happy Valley to Poyungan area most successful with spinners over rocks in the surf. The southern side of Poyungan being the pick if gutter formations allow. Weed will be a factor though at this time of year unless we get some good south easters or an early cyclone or low pressure system.
Jpart 10, not sure where your info comes from but tailor spawn several times on each migration and don't have a specific moon or time to spawn. They also don't choose Indian Head to Waddy as their location to spawn any more due to decades of being netted in this area. The closure that exists here is of very little value indeed in assisting recruitment and should be altered. Spawning can occur anywhere from southern NSW to 1770 with Breaksea Spit their last and main spawning location. As Bendover said - they are available all year round with numbers being significantly less between Feb and May. Locations closer to Qld/NSW border have tailor migrating either north, south, or both directions at all times of the year.
