    G'day
Yep, you will get all of that catch and more in those areas. Places like banana banks, pelican banks, potts point, coochie reef and sou west rocks at peel, also the sandbanks out form dunwich are all worth a look.

South West Rocks has been firing with mostly sweetlip, and all under size

Harry Atkinson is quiet, hit and miss with the odd squire. Seems to be a few school mackeral around, but they arent in bug schools and seem to be a couple here., one there.........

Just have to be prepared to move around and find them at the moment.

    And please watch the weather.
A 15 footer can get into strife in the bay very easily. Especially with these winds about.
    The best of luck though

I use to have a 15 footer... and I don't think I would have felt a tab more comfortable in a 25 footer at times!

    BUT...

    Re: Mortan Bay

Fished Potts Point last Sunday morning on the incoming tide. In three hours caught 25 squire (all undersize), one flathead 42cm, three small sharks to 60cm, a couple of rays and two grinners. Most fish were caught on whitebait, squid and fresh mullet.

We had a ball! Also had a couple of runs by big headshaking buggers (probably sharks) that broke us off!

We fished about 30 metres east of the red beacon in about 10m of water. There is a good hole there that I intend to fish for snapper and jew one night in the near future!

U obviosly haven't been caught out in a blow while around on of the Bay Island's. Just ask Charleville about his experience of bad morton bay weather!!

The bay is a place where the weather shouldn't be taken too lightly!!!

well you just got your first bite, i realise that being a seasoned boater like yourself, that you dont scare easily, especially having been through bars one storey high ,and being in a 15 footer as well , there are plenty of people who have been killed , who weren,t worried about the bay, who weren,t girls just unaware of moreton bay being one of the most unpredictable areas of queensland. i dont class myself as a girl but the bay can still scare me with shitty weather that comes out of no-where.hubby

Jpart10...... Just a realy quick word of advice, Listenn to the knowledge and wisdom expressed on these boards about all facets of this recreation we share. The only person hwo is a fool is the one who had a chance to survive, but chose not too thorugh own admission. Otherwise, i'll look foorward about hearing your departure on the news
And when I do that, i'll find out where you were found, purely for the concentrated population of crabs

well i have done both, been through bars several times and in the bay even moe times, yes the bay can be quite a pushover at times, but believe me, ive been caught in there when the chop on top of the swell was a storey high

How many times u been in the bay mate?

before u start calling us girls, maybe u should considersome of us like to see the sun rising tomorrow and not from a hospital bed.
