I was looking at the qld fishing monthly the other day and there was a pic of a barra that was caught in the logan river . Has anybody else caught barra there ? I'm thinking it would be a stray the got out from the fishing park at beenleigh but im intrested to know if any others have been caught .

There are a few aquaculture joints in the area. Probably a couple of escapees.

Bring on global warming and things might get interesting

I know one of the local trawlers in the river has caught 2 in the nets in the past 18 months. I would say escapees from somewhere or another

Re: barra in the logan river

most fish tank barra are fresh and would probly die if they went straight into salt water . They found 2 70cm barra in the sandgate lagoon when it dried out a year or 2 ago .
