There are a few aquaculture joints in the area. Probably a couple of escapees.

I know one of the local trawlers in the river has caught 2 in the nets in the past 18 months. I would say escapees from somewhere or another
I target them in the logan all the time..last time we went I only got 3 or 4 though
Dan - you actually go out targeting them hey.
using hard body lures?
what sort of success have you got?
Have you found any tarpon as a bye catch?
I doubt they are in there in large proportions like up north i believe you could get them as escapees but targeting them reguraly what next ?
You dont keep them though do you?Originally Posted by dan88

THEY SAY ,WHEN THEY GET TOO BIG FIOR THE FISH TANK ,DOWN THE RIVER THEY GO.
hahaha sorry guys it was a joke, sorry to get ya hopes up
most fish tank barra are fresh and would probly die if they went straight into salt water . They found 2 70cm barra in the sandgate lagoon when it dried out a year or 2 ago .
nic as far as i know they can go straight in to salt,no worries ,and visversa[smiley=thumbsup.gif]
