    Re: ABT BREAM COMPS

    Hi Alby

My first go at ABT Bream comps was last year and have been kicking myself since.

Why I didn't do it a year earlier has got me buggered !!

I went as a non boater to 3 events in the first year (2005) and boated in 2 this year and non boated in about 3 .

I even had the privalidge of netting all of Dizzy Borg's
day 2 fish at the Adelaide comp
That's my ABT claim to fame !!

I was a bit nervous about going in them , jeez , I hope my casting OK . hope the boater isn't a dick!

Most people get out of them what you want, I had to give up work , so took up breaming and have had a ball doing it.

I found most of the blokes are very good to get on with and have a regular social fish with some.

And just like anywhere else, you will meet the odd Goose.

Mate , go and have a crack at it, you'll love it

    Cheers Mick

    Hey

I just started this year, fishing as a non-boater in the gold coast and tweed rounds.
I was nervous going into them, but its such a great experience. You learn heaps from your boaters and get to fish with the chance of winning nice prizes
Most the guys that fish are all great and willing to help you out.

    Cheers

hey im interested in this one too guys,

what exactly is involved when your a non boater,
do you get allocated a partner or do you need to know someone in the comp already etc,

also what is included in the $110 entry fee,
is it purely an entry fee or does that include some meals, maybe a shirt or lures.

havent fished comps for years and i assume its slighty different.
    Cheers,

    Ben

    Re: ABT BREAM COMPS

    Alby,
I would be keen to have a go as well - maybe even enter my boat and take a non boater with me. I suspect that I would end up in last place, but I think that the experience would make it worthwhile. Please post any information you find out under this thread. It seems that there is plenty of interest.
    Regards,
    Dave
