MYUNA BAY LAKE MACQUARIE
Gday I was wondering if anyone could give me some hints for fishing Lake Macquarie, especially the western side around Myuna Bay. I am stuck there for four days over Christmas for a family reunion and some fishing is my only hope for sanity . My plan was soft plastics (never tried them but everyone is raving) as I won't have any way of storing bait. Is it shallow and weedy like Lake Illawarra? What species? any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: MYUNA BAY LAKE MACQUARIE
hi whenever im down that way near myuna bay we go to the eraing out let which from myuna bay is about 2mins towards morriset head onto the power station road head back towords the lake depending which direction you came from follow it to the end there is a gate that is locked at night but ver right at the gate if locked follow to the water and walk back or park at the gate and walk not far
this is the power station outlet has heaps of black fish bream and flat head the water moves fairly quik but once the water goes into the lake it gets quite shallow never tryied lures there most poeple chase black fish with weed that can be gathered from the rocks i use mullet or pilly peices and fish closer to the lake but try any were had a turtle take the line once but he spat out luckly
ps water ways do patrol this area as they have caught several f**k wits taking undersize fish thats why they lock the gate at night
happy fishing and have a good holiday
