    Which Boat Ramp to use???

    Hi All,

Just wanting some expert advise, I am interested in going out to Palm Beach Reef, but have no experience in crossing bars (I will need to book in to a Bar crossing course early in the New Year) and am wondering what ramp to use.

I have a 4.85m Savage Scorpion with a 70hp 2 stroke Yammie on the back.

    Any advise is appreciated

    Thanks

My advice would be to find somewhere else to go or go down via the seaway. If your not confident with bars and are going to do a bar crossing course then you probably shouldn't be crossing them until you've done that course. The fish will still be there or there is always next year. The trick is to make sure you are still around.
The seaway also needs a fair bit of respect in certain conditions so don't think it is a safe all condition entrance.

    Hi keen-angler
mate i have to agree with backhoe

use the seaway it is safer an easier to use which ramp depnds on location i always use the Grandveiw Boat ramp at Labadour or the Paradise island ramp much easier an accessible ramps for any outside trip but a bar crossing course is advisable before any outside trip if it blows up before you get back in the seaway can be a horror if unknown and safety is always a concern at all times

    Thanks Guys,

I think I might just wait until I do the course, it's always better to be safe then sorry.

Definitley head out of the Seaway, get some confidence up before crossing the currumbin bar. Tweed is ok, but watch the swell and time of the tide.

Will take you about 20mins to half an hour out of the sea way

yer buddy get some hours up in that boat and do the course and pick the weather and the tides, play it safe and the fish will then be bigger
