    Hi Dave

Hi there super mackerel & welcome to Ausfish,

You will find a lot of like minded people here, myself included.

Also, congratulations on a very nice fish, well done!!!

That mackerel would be close to 50lb in the 'old weight' wihich is considered a bench mark, so you've done exceptionally well.

I am assuming you meant 'hand line' when you said "hand fishing", do you use a rod and reel? or do you hand line for every thing?

Really looking forward to seeing more great posts from you on the other side of the world.

    Cheers Roz.

    GO THE CRUISER UTES!

    ....OH WHAT A FEELING!

Re: I hope you all like my photo with my sweety

Yes, you are correct, I meant a hand fishing for every thing and it is a wreck mark; you ýknow the default thing in this type of fishing is that you have to be a fully concentrate on ýthe line because most of the mackerel specialty the big sizes will stop behind the live bait ýand start eating it without moving you feel only a smooth movement then you have a ýchance for 2 seconds to pull the line back in a fast action to stick the hooks in the ýmackerel and if you lose the line for a 1 up to 3 second in the pulling time you will lose ýthe fish for sure.ý

The most important thing that you have to catch a live bait like a small Paracouda 1 feet ýlength which is the most attractive bait and fishing at the same location and you know ýearlier that the location have a mackerel also the water temperature is not less than 23c ýand not more the 35c.ý

Check this out, this is my cousin in the fist lesson.

    Regards

    Murad
