    hi brooker
high tide is the best for currumbin, and if u r unsure u just have to follow another boat out!

With a 4.1m, you'll have no probs getting out of Currumbin. Even on a lowish tide, you'll have a bit of water under you.

A run in tide is best, as it with knock the swell down a bit. Currumbin is protected from winds from the south as well.

I suggest you don't just follow another boat out. Firstly because while they might make it out between the sets, you may not. Secondly, they may hit the sand bar & before you know it, you'll be in their boat with them.
Your best bet would be to go down there over a few weekends and watch them go out & in on different tides.
Two very different routes need to be taken depending on the tide, conditions and the number of surfers at the alley.

I've got a 6m glass boat & I get in & out of there ok. So you'll have no probs as far as water depth is concerned.
