Fish finder using small battery
Any ideas how long a 7amp hr battery will last running a Piranha 1x ?? or can I get away with a smaller one ?

Re: Fish finder using small battery
last a good couple of days i reckon, those Piranha 1x are also sold in a portable carry box that uses 2 6volt block batterys and they usually last around 12 to 15hrs of use.. a 7 amp hour battery should increase it a fair bit

So 7 amp hours might even be over kill ?

Re: Fish finder using small battery
depends on what you want to do with it!
for a finder that you use once in a blue moon then might be overkill but if you want to use it a bit and have room go the bigger

Re: Fish finder using small battery
i wouldnt say its overkill, battery life only assumes how much you use it during the day, when you use it at night with the back light feature, you'll decrease the battery life and use up a lil bit more juice...

Re: Fish finder using small battery
I get a few days out of a 7 amp battery. Just don't leave the backlight on overnight. I use it for our tender dingy where it fits in one of those Bermuda hang on the gunnel storage boxes with the sounder on top and a suction mount transducer. A cheap portable unit.
