US Furuno plotter/sounders - metric settings

Doing some research for my young bloke. Considering importing one of the new generation Furunos - maybe the GP7000F.

Does anyone know whther the US models have metric settings available on them. I know the one's we get here have it - so am guessing that those in the States also have the option.

Any info on procedures for importing/duty problems and suppliers for the Furunos also appreciated.

Also (while I'm on a roll) they seem to be going for the C-Map chart option on Furunos - not sure that this is a good thing in their favour from what I read, at least for their Australian maps ?

I am also looking at same unit Tony.Cant answer your question as i am wanting to know myself.Also wondering about warranty if you buy ex US.I have found a supplier who sells it for 1671 $US plus a transducer.Is this a good price?
