    G'day Steve,

had the first outing with the new unit. Must say its awsome. The settings u provided made life much easier. I have got quite a bit of interference at speed so will have to play with the transducer position a little this week.

    thanks again

Glad it works fine mark, Are you droping out at speed?? My unit has a bit of dificulty above 22 knots untill I crank the gain up.

Howd the rest of you go?? It should make some more sense the more you play. the biggest thing i found was the range select and then shifting down to the water colum that I wanted to see.

    Cheers Steven

    Re: FURUNO L600

Steve the signal doesnt drop out, My tubs top speed is only 24Knts and I had good bottom readings at that with the gain set at about 3.4-3.6

I tend to get a lot of noise above # 8 kts. I think its a transducer positioning problem. Even though I used the template to position the ducer it seems to be sitting a little low in the water. At speed it looks to be throwing quite a bit of spray. IMO the turbulence is the culprit so I will have a play before the next outing.

    All the best

maxi- its agood choice inside 100m and the 50mhz is good to about 60m- really its a top winter snapper sounder, as its strong but not too strong that it freeks the fish out, like a 1000w's of click.
john palermo installed mine never had any trouble except i have destroyed the pop up bracket on a log once. hes nice bloke john.
    tight lines
damon ps. you should only seriously sound for fish at idle speed, even though you will pick up schools at speed, its the more discreet shows you will miss.

    Billy

mine in the open on a side console and that is y I ended up going for white background as it is the best to see in the sunshine.

    damons33,

you are right there about John P. Got the sounder off him and has more tahn enough time to spend with u showing you all its features and benifits and how to maximise your use of the sounder. Top bloke will recomend him for Furuno stuff to anyone.

    Cheers

    Hi,
Does one need a different transducer for electric motor? or one installation does the lot for outboard motor also?
