Eagle/Lowrance

just noticed this on the site i have been getting my electronics from, is it the same on sites others use??

Eagle products can only be sold in the United States and Canada and some US territories.

Lowrance Products
Lowrance products may only be sold in the US, Canada and some US territories.

then again, the goody two shoes & greenies consider us a US state anyway, so we may be OK ;>

Lowrance are very strong in their protection of territories. I don't know if they are all company owned or have appointed distributors but they do restrict sale of items outside of the assigned territory of the head vendor. But you will find people who will sell outside their area from the US. The only difficulty is with warranty where you will need to return the item to the States for repair and the US warranty is only 1 year against the Aussie 2 years. If you were going to buy either an Eagle or a Lowrance either from the states or here I would recommend the Lowrance. The units are generally the same except in power output stats where the Lowrance is generally stronger. Given the small Price differential I can not see a reason to buy the less powerful unit unless those few dollars are simply not available.

eagle and lowrance are exactly the same lowrance are designed for US use and eagle was brought out for australian use but are exactly the same

eagle and lowrance are made my the same company but are not the same mostly the units have differant pix counts and the power ratings are differant. both are sold in the us and overseas.

I have had Lowrance GPS units replaced under warranty with Eagle units and when I voiced my concerns to the company they assured me they were identicle in every way except the colour of the backlight,I have also had Lowrance fishfinders replaced under warranty and they have always been replaced with the exact same Lowrance units.
