I have seen BlueChart Pacific v7.5 http://www.garmin.com/cartography/ma...artPacific.jsp that can be loaded into OziExplorer (so I'm informed) its about $299 but this price stopped me (I have OziExplorer)

I have heard that there is new maps from Bundy to the Tweed commin out about now from C-MAP http://www.c-map.com.au/c-map_current/ but this is unconfirmed.

If anyone has a copy of either I could 'evaluate' I would be grateful.

A notebook PC, OziExplorer and some decent charts and you have the largest screen cheapest chartplotter you could get.

    http://www.oziexplorer.com/

let me know how you get on.

I have the Magellan mapsend BlueNav Oceania. Came with the GPS as a kit. Costs about $300 by itself. At the lowest zoom levels has much more detail about the bottom than the Admiralty chart I was using, (Jervis Bay area.) Good to use on computer and GPS. (Size of GPS screen means old folk have fun reading the detail).

It would be possible to 'evaluate' a copy on the computer, but Magellan have used the 'secure' aspect of their SD cards, so the software ends up tied to one GPS/SD card/computer combination. The system is very annoying if you make a mistake with the security or if you want to use it with two computers, say one at home and one where you go to fish.

    The charts themselves are excellent.
