have a look around
I am looking at purchasing the above type vhf radio. The best new price I can find so far in Aust is $364 inc p&p from prestige communications can anyone better that? Feel free to P.M. if commercially confidential.
Any fishing is good fishing (should probably say Any fishing is...probably going to be illegal soon)
try www.threeriversmarine.com if you don't mind buying overseas.
email for a firm price which includes shipping & insurance
the fellas name is Clint & you usually have item in 7 days or less.
last year i bought a M402s to my door in 5 days $253, best price in Brisbane at that time was $520.
have also bought gps from them, they are good to deal with.
should be somewhere around the $240 mark. depending on exchange rate..
Whitworths have them at the moment for $339 - http://whitworths.com.au/main_itemde...AbsolutePage=1
I've had one for a few months, they are not a bad unit (but I don't have anything to compare to...)
Thanks so far guys, I am still looking and overseas prices are quite attractive. I was originally looking at the similarly featured and priced navman 7200 but based on recommendations of a few quite respected Ausfishers in other posts regarding vhf radio I'm pretty sure the icom is superior (navman don't appear to be popular when it comes to quality)

They do have a very high feedback rating so they should be ok? I know the topic has been raised before but I cant recall ever seeing a result, is the Warranty International in the unlikely event you do have a problem, or does it have to be returned to the US for service.

Thanks everyone for your help. Alas, the purchase will have to wait until I've paid for my studies (I am about to enrol in a postgrad course and family can't really afford it at present but can't improve career position without it so I guess the boat is not a priority at moment)
Thanks again hopefully someone else got help from this thread though
