I know I know this has been covered a few times b4 but as I had no real interest back then I failed to take any notice. I am considering buying a sounder on E-bay from USA, A matrix 12 for around the $200 plus postage, What are my risks? is it worth the $100 or so saving? Other units I am considering are the Garmin 120, Navman 4430. Any advice on which one will be best? If anyone has one of these units let me know your opinions on them, Thanks Guys Sean Going fishing with Mono on Sunday!!!!! Just thought I'd let you know!!
have bought heaps of stuff on e-bay . never had any problems ,sellers are bound by the rules of sale and usually stick by them. also if you buy through pay-pal you are covered if you are dudded i think. go for it ...bob
Same here. To date I have bought 2 cars (unseen before I bought them) and numerous other items.
Never had any issues.
I only buy from sellers who have a good track record.
Happy hunting.

My advice would be, for a saving of $100, it is not worth it.
First, if anything goes wrong with it, even if it was delivered faulty, it will cost you a fair bit of your $100 to get it back to the states. Warranty claims have to go back to the country of purchase.
Secondly, if you buy here you will get 2 years warranty. In the states you will only get 1 year.
This applies to Humminbird and Lowrance.
Having said that, for $200-300 saving it may very well be worth it.
I bought my unit from the states.
Hope that helps
Frank
By the way, some companies, Lowrance for one, are now excluding auction bought items from warranty. i.e. warranty only applies to original purchaser from an authorised dealer/distributor.
