    Re: Garmin 320c GPS

    Hi Blaze,
Yes I have had 1 for about 8 months and it is bloody brilliant to say the least.

The only trouble you will find is if you sort of already half now where to go, and the pilot tells you a different way to what you think is right, you tend to feel a little uneasy following it, but as long as the addy you selected is correct it is all sweet, it will take you right there.

For example I needed to go from Toowoomba to Stones Corner Marine 117 Old Cleveland Road, now the pilot told me to take the Granade Road Exit of Ipswich Road but I new if I kept going in past PA Hospital and turned right at the flash car place, it was only a little way from corner, so I didn't follow the pilot, but I have no doubt it would have got me there.

I had a few probs with searching for addy's but a quick download from the Garmin website with the latest drivers fixed it.

There is a lot of info on the card, I particuarly like the food and accommodation function. I am also a golf nut so I search for golf courses as well they are all on there.

If you need a chemist, hospital, shopping centre airport it is all there.

I had to go to a funeral the other day and wanted flowers I hit spell, typed in florist ,and it took me to their door, fantastic time saver there.

Got onto a guy on ebay who sells the red light camera and speed camera locations, these come in an excel file, you download the poi loader from the Garmin website hook her up to computer and bobs your uncle. Every time you aproach a known camera intersection it will give a double beep and display in red RED LIGHT CAMERA. These are constantly being updated by ppl emailing him the gps co-ordinates of cameras they find, pretty cool I thought, might save me a buck 1 day.

Had it for 8 months and still finding little things it does that i didn't know about.

Enjoy it you will love it I am sure, Well worth the money I say.

When I got it, I also looked at navman and tomtom. Some dearer and some cheaper but I feel I have made the right decision. Trip to melbourne on the weekend will test it. I have typed in the melbourne address and it even shows I need to drive to the Spirit of Tasmania to get across the water.

so this unit is great, showed me the way to the boat, gets off the boat in melbourne and waiting for the unit to get a fix on sats, IT BLOODY FREEZES. I tried to turn it off, unplugged the power lead, total freeze. So heres blaze in the pouring rain, no map book and now no nav unit expected to drive through the city. Long story short and lots of wrong turns I got to where I was going. In the morning the unit was off because the internal batery had gone flat. Turned it on and it works fine now but I wasnt a real happy boy the night before with my aptly name "B*CTH".

OOps sorry blaze forgot to tell you if you look at the blue cover around the screen you will see a small indent in the screen side of the top.
Gently pry the blue cover off and there is a reset button on the right hand side, press this and all is sweet again.

I have had mine lock up like yours once, not sure what happened but it has not happened since.

    Hope this makes sense.
