Lowrence 20 vs Matrix 97, Navman vs GME
January we sold our 6.5m JBS c/cab plate boat .... although being a great boat it was time for a change .... (I'm old, fat, bald and ugly so I need the creature comforts seeing the blonde bimbo wasn't available at the time ... ) ... Great boat that was fitted with an awesome 150 HP Honda, great fuel economy and so on. Electronically it had a Matrix 97 combo and the Navman 7000 series VHF and 27 Meg radios with DSC etc. All was good, all was very user friendly.
We bought a brand new 660 series Whittley, entirely different boat set-up I know, which has been very easily adapted to "her" leisure boat and my fishing boat, so all is still very good.
Even after being more than happy with the new boat and still going out on it, same as before every 2nd weekend ... overnighting, cruising, fishing etc, try as I might, I cannot find reason to admirably compare the two set ups electronically. To me the Matrix is far in front of the Lowrence and the Navman gear, far more user friendly, and far in front of the older GME technology.
Ultimately, looks like I will finish up stripping both radios and the Lowrence combo off and dispatching them all to ebay ... nothing wrong with them, just not for me.
Is it just me ??? What are your thoughts ???? ... thanks

I would be having any more navman gear in boat after the problems I've had and have heard about! >
